From 1 May 2025, the mandatory mobility tax will be levied throughout Salzburg. In return, all overnight guests will receive the Guest Mobility Ticket.
The ticket allows the use of all public transport in the entire province of Salzburg (city and regional buses, S-Bahn trains, regional and long-distance trains, as well as Salzburg Verkehr shuttles) during the entire stay.
The Salzburg Verkehr Guest Mobility Ticket is a unified ticket for all overnight guests in the federal state of Salzburg. The funding is provided through the mandatory mobility fee, which is an additional charge to the overnight tax and is issued directly at check-in at the accommodation. It is valid for all public transportation in the Salzburg region for the duration of the stay. This includes city transport, regional buses, S-trains, regional trains, long-distance trains, and micro-public transport.
The Salzburg Verkehr Guest Mobility Ticket is valid on all public transportation in the state of Salzburg for the duration of your stay. This includes city transport, regional bus services, S-trains, regional trains, long-distance trains, and micro public transport.
The Guest Mobility Ticket is valid for the entire stay of a guest, from check-in until the end of operations on the day of departure.
The ticker is also valid with pre-check-in and can be used for the journey to the accommodation. (Rail transport (train connections) and Local transport (buses)).
The Salzburg Verkehr Guest Mobility Ticket is issued to guests directly at check-in at the accommodation and is charged as a mandatory mobility fee, in addition to the overnight tax, at a rate of 0.50 euros per person per night.
The ticket is provided digitally or in paper form by the accommodation provider. For sustainability reasons, the digital version is preferred.
